This WPG recreation is copied from an original British made coat named to an American officer serving in AEF in WWI.  The outer shell is untreated cotton twill, lined in waterproof oilcloth and an inner lining of cotton flannel for comfort.  There is also a beautiful wool button-in liner.  This is a shorter model coming to just above the knees (which proved more practical in the trenches), with a classic A-line flared shape to the skirt.  Other features are belted cuffs, storm flap at throat, stitched eyelets throughout and leather covered buckles.   Overall this is a stunning garment,

NOTE: When new the trench coat has a strong smell of linseed oil from the oilcloth liner. Some people enjoy it and others find it objectionable. Just let it air out for a while and the smell will diminish considerably.
