Following certain reviews I ordered a size up 46 chest from my normal 44. The jacket is roomy and maybe a 44 would have been fine??? Item is very well made but the sleeve seems a little long - below my elbow - maybe this is correct I will have to check some period images. Colour had come off the leather belt buckle onto the jacket - not tried washing yet to see if it will come out but will be hidden by the belt anyway so not overly concerned.

What WERE the French thinking? Jungles, bugs &c. make long sleeves a better bet, generally. But, for those of us less exposed to bugs, this is a nice jacket for late-spring through early-fall. It's nicely cut with plenty of breathing space. Wear with white or dark blue pants for a nice sporty look.

Two potential gotchas: The leather buttons have to come off for washing (cold water, cold air dry to avoid potential shrinkage); they are secured with imitation mini-split rings. These work, but "hairpin" cotter pins may be a better bet. The leather-covered slide buckle has no curve and therefore no grip; expect the belt to loosen, come undone -- or go online to Amazon and get a better slidebuckle with some grip to it.

I've looked high and low, even in Jamaica where the Contsbulary wear an almost identical jacket. Should have looked at WPG sooner.

Excellent jacket, nicely detailed and tailored. The button hardware allows for easy removal and change to proper regimental buttons.

Good materials and very well made. The split rings provided for the buttons are nearly un-usable, but cotter pins or even small safety pins work well. I'm constantly surprised at how quickly orders arrive from the UAE.
