Putting together a French Colonial impression and this jacket is perfect for walking out. Ordered a size up for shrinkage. Construction and fabric are superb. Lots of added detail like snap buttons on pocket flaps for the "neat" look. Very impressed.
Great Jacket

Really great to see these jackets available. WPG's range of product is excellent. I have the Gurkha shorts from way back and have come back to build out the old wardrobe. Ordered the jacket one size up and it did shrink in the wash. Very comfortable and wearable material. Would prefer a bit more tailored fit through the body. Not sure if this can be done, will take it to my tailor and see if possible. Perhaps the khaki bush jacket, which I will order next, is more suppressed through waist as it does mention it is a more tailored fit. Also, I ordered the white shorts to now with the jacket and there is a noticeable color difference between the two, with the shorts being more truly white while the jacket is a bit more cream/ecru/eggshell. That said, would still definitely recommended for those seeking the look for the once legendary greatest Empire on earth!

This is the long-available tan jacket, made up in white drill. Order one size larger, and cycle the jacket through a very hot wash and hot dry; this is not preshrunk goods.
The tan jacket I have has normal width belt loops, which is good, since the little hidden retainer straps have very weak snaps. The white jacket was made up with smaller-than-the-belt loops; one is compelled to use the little hidden retainer straps. On the other hand, the supplied snaps are pretty solid, so that is not a problem.
The supplied metal slide buckle does not grip, so the belt will not stay put; fix this by bending the slide buckle into a more pronounced curve, or (better) get a new slide buckle that grips properly (or perhaps even a pair of rectangular "D" rings).
