This smock is authentic and well made. Ordered one size up to compensate for any shrinkage. Very happy with finish details and look. A rare piece come back to life, well done.

Description fails to note that the Smock fabric is "shirt weight". Not anticipating garment standing up to rough wear or actually warranting the term "Windproof".

Bought this smock as a nice light weight fall jacket and it is all of that and more. Comfortable, light and stylish. Can't ask for a better fall jacket.

This reprodustion smock is 100% acurate in fabric and quality. I have no issues with quality, craftsmanship or materials. The only flaw i would point out is the length is short for a smock. However i would point out the same can be said of the original design. So its not a flaw in manufacturing, but its original cut of the design.
Im a big lad. 5' 9" 340lbs. I normally wear a 2XL so i ordered a 3XL. The 3XL im pleased to say fitts me like a smock is meant to fit...baggy..i can fit a flannel shirt and thick wool sweater under it with lots of room for another thick layer. The bottom hem is just at the centre of my bum and crotch. Or below hip. Id prefer my smock to be mid thigh or just above the knee. Personal preference. Its all about the LCF (Look Cool Factor) or as the Brits would say Allyness.
I puchased this smock for trail and hill walking. The material is deseptivly lightweight and im hoping durable. If youve never used or handleed an issuedbritsh Arctic smock or the original 42pattern windproof one may tbink its a cheap dress shirt material. However this is a Light weight Gaberdine Cotton. Which is meant to be hardwaearing. Ill give a long turm review in a years time. Ill be purchasing a second smock to canibolise for patrs and material. Im going to have my smock tailored to add 8 inches to the bottom hem to add length. And replace the brass oneway zipper with a plastic 2way zipper (ykk). Add velcro to the cuffs and a 2inch strip to the hoods centre seam to accomidate winter head wear and allow for thick scarves and a larger volume of traped air around the base of my neck. Im also going to dye it dark brown.
Overall great peice of kit. Very affordable.
