Excellent cap

I bought this to see how well WPG recreated the French HBT lizard pattern and also because I don't own a real "Bigeard" cap.
I do have several genuine French trousers and jackets in HBT lizard from the 60's and 70's as well as a real Bigeard cap in olive drab from the 90's so from this I can say it's a great repro. The cut is very near the original it seems and the fit is great. The color of the camouflage is very close but not quite the same, since the base khaki-green color is a little lighter than on the real items I have. On the other hand the colors on the green and red overlapping strokes are very close to real French lizard.
Note that at the time the colors varied between manufacturers, years of production and patterns until it became more stantardized in 1958 as can be seen on 47/56 pattern uniforms. So I'm not exactly criticizing here.
The only thing that really betrays it as a repro (besides the absent markings and that it's brand new) are the chevrons of the HBT fabric, they are slightly wider than the real stuff.
All in all a great substitute for a cap that's nearly impossible to find in the right size and at a reasonable price nowadays!

Nice hat - proper pattern

The Bigeard cap a weird design, but then so are Citroen cars - the French just have to be a bit odd. But the French camo pattern is a classic. This french “lizard” camo is better production than the older one WPG offered (the green was over the brown and did not look right); this corrected version has brown running over the green and the colors appear comparable to the couple original pieces I have. Great cap to have; will try a the TTA jacket next.

Excellent Quality Cap. Flap/tail can also be folded inside cap like those worn/seen in film "Lost Command". Ordered / Wear a size 7 3/4 (62), fits perfect.

Great reproduction cap. One of the best reproductions I have seen anywhere. Looks exactly like my original Bigeard Cap. Has the best colors of any repro cap I have seen, the colors are very vibrant & look just like the camo color of the caps used in Algeria, also has a much stronger/thicker visor/brim than most reppros I have seen.The HB weave material used in construction is spot on as well, just like my original. Very nice price, & arrived super fast at my home as well, like 3-5 days after I ordered it!
