Tropical Battledress and Jungle Greens: In 1943 the British Army adopted a tropical uniform based on the popular wool battledress. The jacket was waist length, made in Aertex cellular weave cotton, and was usually worn without a shirt. The trousers were sturdy cotton drill, with pockets and belt loops similar to wool BD. This uniform was made in both khaki (used primarily in theMediterranean and Italy) and Jungle Green (used in Burma and the Pacific).
